Clients must inform Merryways within 24 hours after employment is offered to a nanny or mother’s help. Fees are then payable from when the employment is confirmed, i.e. job is offered and accepted either verbally or written.
If the placement, for any reason, does not suit your satisfaction, refunds will be given as follows:
Refunds will be only be valid if:
- Agency placement fees have been paid in full within 7 days from the invoice date.
- Merryways have been informed within 7 days of termination.
- Client does not breech the contract of Merryways or that of the employee.
Merryways will give a complete refund, or find a suitable replacement within 4 weeks after the first day of employment.
This only applies with the first placement form Merryways. If employment results in termination within the first 4 weeks again, we will endeavour to find a suitable replacement or a refund will be given as follows:
After this 4 week period we will offer a pro-rata basis.
If an employment offer is made and withdrawn before the employment start date, a 50% agency placement fee will be charged.
If the client withdraws the employment within 2 weeks before the starting date, the client will also be responsible for paying the nanny one week’s net wage.
If a nanny is employed on a temporary basis and then is extended into a permanent employment, charges will apply to make it up to a permanent placement fee.
Merryways is not an employment agency, but an introduction agency.
Reference and police checks will have been made on all of the candidates and Merryways strives to find the best childcare. However we do suggest that you do your own checks and enquiries. The decision of employment is made by the client, therefore the suitability of the employee lies with the client. Merryways holds no responsibility for any loss, damage, cost or compensation which may occur during employment.
Merryways do not run a payroll system. Employers are responsible for paying the employee’s tax and national insurance. Any wages or expenses must either go through Inland Revenue or a specialist company which we would be happy to advise on.
Information released about candidates is given in strict confidentiality. If information is passed onto a third party, the client will be liable to pay the appropriate fee.
Merryways will match any agency fees in your local area. I.e. any agency within a 10 miles radius of Merryways (Walton on Thames)
Merryways strongly recommends that you ensure that any nanny that you employ has current Public Liability insurance with a minimum of £1,000,000 limit of indemnity.
